چکیده

Chicory roots are a valuable source of inulin and other healthy nutrients. The most common direction their industrial processing is instant chicory powder production. Extraction the main process in Conventional extraction methods, which include maceration, percolation screw extractor, have number significant drawbacks, including high capital operating costs, low quality resulting extract, complexity repairing equipment, short overhaul life, etc. purpose present study was to assess technical feasibility increasing efficiency through using continuous pulsating extractors (CPE) developed by Ingehim company, non-stationary, countercurrent mode interaction raw materials with extractant incorporated. Testing engineering solutions implemented CPE carried out at pilot unit (PPU). For extraction, roasted crushed (5–20 mm) from one factories were used. ratio : water during 1 4.5, 1.5–2.5 times lower than conventional extractors. A temperature (up 85°C) combined shorter time hour) may help retain more nutrients as compared methods. results PPU under these conditions confirmed yield water-soluble solids 98%) without additional grinding. scheme for modernization factory equipped equipment having feed capacity 400 kg/h proposed CPE. 3D images shown. comparative assessment energy consumption different methods given. indicate capability extracting chicory, decrease up 3.6 total specific obtaining kg Low costs determine prospects existing or creation new energy-efficient factories.

Fuzzy extractors for continuous distributions

We show that there is a direct relation between the maximum length of the keys extracted from biometric data and the error rates of the biometric system. The length of the bio-key depends on the amount of distinguishing information that can be extracted from the source data. This information can be used a-priori to evaluate the potential of the biometric data in the context of a specific crypto...

Extractors Using Hardness Amplification

Zimand [24] presented simple constructions of locally computable strong extractors whose analysis relies on the direct product theorem for one-way functions and on the Blum-Micali-Yao generator. For N -bit sources of entropy γN , his extractor has seed O(logN) and extracts N random bits. We show that his construction can be analyzed based solely on the direct product theorem for general functio...

Enhanced flavour extraction in continuous liquid-liquid extractors.

Continuous liquid-liquid extraction is a versatile, reliable and robust sample preparation technique, but there is a tendency for the solvent to make channels through the sample, causing uneven and incomplete extraction. A simple, cheap magnetic stirrer that prevents channelling improves extraction efficiency by between 2.8 and 17.6 times.

Combinatorial characterizations of extractors and Kolmogorov extractors

We present characterizations of extractors and Kolmogorov extractors in terms of a combinatorial object called balanced table. These characterizations provide an alternative proof for the relation between extractors and Kolmogorov extractors, first obtained in [FHP06] and [HPV09].

Constructing practical Fuzzy Extractors using QIM

Fuzzy extractors are a powerful tool to extract randomness from noisy data. A fuzzy extractor can extract randomness only if the source data is discrete while in practice source data is continuous. Using quantizers to transform continuous data into discrete data is a commonly used solution. However, as far as we know no study has been made of the effect of the quantization strategy on the perfo...
